New Delhi: After reaching England, the Indian Test team led by Shubman Gill has started its training. The young team took part in the training session to prepare for the five matches. This Test series will also mark the beginning of the 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle for Team India. This series is also the beginning of a new era for Indian cricket, as legendary players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from Test cricket.

India’s aim is to win the Test series in England:
India’s goal is to win a Test series in England for the first time since 2007. India has not won any Test series on English soil for the last 18 years. India last won a Test series on English soil in the year 2007, when the team captained by Rahul Dravid defeated England 1-0 in a 3-match Test series. India played the last Test series on English soil in 2021-22. This five-match Test series ended in a 2-2 draw.

BCCI shared a video of India’s training session on social media and captioned it, ‘First glimpse of Team India getting into rhythm in England.’ In the video, Team India’s fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh joined the practice along with new captain Shubman Gill, experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant. It was a tough and fast training session, which took place at the Lord’s Indoor Cricket Center under the supervision of head coach Gautam Gambhir and his coaching team.
