The Royal Challengers Bengaluru held their Unbox 2025 event on Monday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

New Delhi: The Royal Challengers Bengaluru hosted their Unbox 2025 event on Monday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as devoted RCB fans experienced a festive day of enjoyment with their cricketing heroes. This initiative by the franchise offers a valuable chance for fans to engage with the players before the IPL season begins. In this upcoming season, Rajat Patidar will take on the role of captain, while star player Virat Kohli continues to be the main draw for the team.
At the RCB Unbox event, a funny incident occurred when England batsman Phil Salt accidentally hit Kohli on the head with a ball. This happened while the players were doing a lap around the stadium, tossing balls into the audience to express their gratitude for the fans’ continued support.
During the event, one of the balls thrown by Salt accidentally struck Kohli on the head. Upon realizing that Salt was responsible for the incident, Kohli humorously jumped and embraced the English player, surprising the spectators.
“I just saw Virat in my eye-line. An honestly, I just got him so nicely in the side of the head. He literally got whiplashed looking around for me. And… I don’t know who was pointing at me, he thought it was someone else and then his eyes turned to me and he looked serious,” said Salt in a video shared by RCB.
“I wasn’t sticking around! I tried to get straight out of there but he was on me in no time at all. If there’s footage of that, it’ll be very, very funny,” he added.
Under the leadership of captain Rajat Patidar, the team performed a lap of honor to show appreciation for their dedicated fan base, acknowledging their steadfast support and loyalty. Following this, the excited audience enjoyed an energetic musical performance by Hanumankind, a well-known rapper in India.
The announcement of RCB’s 22-player roster for the season was met with enthusiastic applause and cheers, with the most significant excitement directed towards Kohli and captain Patidar.
Kohli, who is the highest run-scorer in IPL history, said, as quoted by RCB press release, “It feels amazing to be back to this amazing city, amazing fans, and the excitement and happiness like every other season is high. I’ve been here for 18 years, and I absolutely love it. We have an amazing squad this time around, and a lot of talent. I’m personally very excited to get going for the season ahead.”
