Chennai Super Kings suffered their first Chepauk defeat to Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2008. RCB dominated the match, preventing Chennai from recovering.

Despite being dropped three times by Chennai Super Kings fielders, Patidar capitalized on the chances, scoring a crucial 51 runs from 32 balls, including four fours and three sixes, to boost his team’s run rate in the middle overs. Tim David’s quick 22 runs off eight balls compensated for a period of slower scoring earlier in the innings.
