Famous actress Shweta Menon recently created history by becoming the first woman president of AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists). She has now talked about fixed and structured working hours for women in the film industry.
Why is Shweta Menon trending?
While explaining her personal experiences, she emphasised the importance of creating a more supportive and communicative work environment, especially for women. Speaking at the India Today South Conclave 2025, Shwetha said, “I did four films while pregnant. I informed my directors that I wasn’t comfortable with early morning shoots, and they understood.”
Menon focused on having better communication. She said, “Most issues can be solved through dialogue, but people often avoid it. Even when I was AMMA’s first female Vice President, I would urge women to share their problems, none of them would,” she said.

Who is Shweta Menon?
Shweta Menon started her career in 1991 with Malayalam film Anaswaram. After this, she remained active in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam cinema. She gave strong performances in films like Vadh, Ab Ke Baras, Dhund: The Fog, Ishq, Asoka, Maqbool, Ishqiya, Bandhan, Palari Manikyam, Ratnirvedam, Kalimannu. Her performance in Malayalam films was highly appreciated and she was also awarded the Kerala State Film Awards.
