Coolie vs War 2 Box Office Day 7: Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 are giving tough competition to each other at the box office. Both films were released on the same day, i.e., August 14. However, Rajinikanth has asserted his stardom by taking the lead.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie boasts an ensemble cast featuring superstars like Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Soubin Shahir, and Shruti Haasan. On the other hand, the inclusion of South star Jr. NTR as the antagonist is a major highlight of Ayan Mukerji’s War 2. Let’s take a look at how much both films have earned so far.
Coolie Box Office Collection Day 7
According to movie trade website Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 220 crore on its seventh day at the box office. Coolie’s earnings began to decline starting from the first Monday, after enjoying a strong run during the long Independence Day weekend. Despite the dip, Coolie remains the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2025 so far.
According to a report by Sacnilk, War 2 earned Rs 3.49 crore across all languages on its seventh day – marking its lowest box office collection to date. As of August 20, the film has earned approximately Rs 196.99 crore.
Coolie stars Rajinikanth in the lead role, with Nagarjuna playing the main villain, Simon. Speaking about the film’s success, Nagarjuna said that breaking records was inevitable and described Coolie as a “celebration of heritage and reinvention.” Aamir Khan appears in a surprise role, while the film also features Shruti Haasan, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir.
This clearly indicates that Coolie is a definite hit, while War 2 may not be a flop, but it certainly lags behind Rajinikanth’s film in terms of performance.
