Ankur Warikoo is a brand in himself. This entrepreneur last year declared himself “fat-free at 43”. He shared his weight loss diet and routine that helped him lose around 10 kgs in over an year. Warikoo is an entrepreneur, social media content creator, who engages in deep conversations and life lessons on failures, investments, personal developments and today boasts of 3.7 million followers on Instagram.

Few days ago he shared his detailed weight loss plan again that propelled him towards his goal to become fat free sustainably. Here’s a look at his “almost vegetarian” weight loss diet routine.

Ankur Warikoo’s Weight Loss Diet Routine

Ankur Warikoo has documented his detailed journey on his YouTube channel. However, he informed his followers about his weight loss routine tips and tricks and emphasised that how this was carefully curated under expert’s guidance and what worked for him maynotoptimally work for others

  • 9:30am: 1 scoop of whey protein + creatine + 1 walnut + 4 almonds + 4 cashew nuts + 5-6 raisins + supplements (Note: please use the supplements only after consulting a medical professional)
  • 11am: 200 gm raw paneer, tofu or tempeh
    Or 3 egg whites (rarely – I don’t like eggs)
    Or dal chilla
  • 1pm: Fruit (banana or half apple or mango or chickoo)
  • 4pm: 2 rotis (emmer wheat/jowar/soya bean) + sabzi + dal + low fat curd
  • 6:30pm: 1 scoop protein with curd

Warikoo included supplements for Omega 3, vitamin B12, vitamin D, Creatine, Whey Protein but one must only take on expert’s advice only.

No weight loss routine is complete without a cheat meal. “Of course, I had days where I had chole bhature and sweets. Those were not rare, but quite common! The key was to hit the calorie deficit on most days, so that you lose fat, while working out so that you build muscles,” Warikoo mentioned.

Ankur Warikoo’s Weight Loss Tips

  • 1 priority was to maintain a calorie deficit on most days. Again, 7.5K calorie deficit = 1kg of fat loss.
  • Increase protein intake in every meal.
  • Eat the same meals mostly. Simple to remember and follow.
  • Include food that you love. You are aiming for a permanent lifestyle change! Just keep the calorie math in mind.
  • Lift weights 3-5 times a week. Should be done in 45 mins. Doesn’t require more time.
  • Remove junk food from your house. Don’t rely on self-control.
  • Sleep is massive! 7+ hours every day.
  • Get an accountability partner – be it a trainer, a friend, shredding in public.
