This makeup artist claims to be there with Sridevi in Dubai for Mohit Marwah’s wedding. Read on what the artist is doing today.

How an actor’s look comes out has a lot to do with the hand of the makeup artist. From working on film sets to becoming part of the personal team, MUAs form an integral part of the celebrity entourage. Be it a movie or a wedding, these creative personalities know how to do a makeover of the actors. Did you know Sridevi’s makeup artist was there with her for the wedding she attended in Dubai before her death?

This artist started working with late actress Sridevi with English Vinglish’ in 2012. In an old interview in 2018, the makeup artist shared his experience working with Sridevi and how she treated her staff. “She had a great sense of colours and shades. There is an art of combining shades that complement the entire attire. She knew it right, I rather learnt it from her. She had a strong sense of aesthetics,” he said. This is Subhash Shinde. He is a famous celebrity makeup artists whose clientele speaks of several big names in the industry.

One of his prominent works in the industry can be traced to critically acclaimed ‘Sarbjit’ in 2016. He is the man behind Aishwarya Rai’s iconic transformation on screen. In the film, Rai’s rite of passage was depicted whilst she eagerly waited for her justice for her imprisoned brother. Opening up about Aish’s work ethics, in an interview he shared, “She has a lot of patience and she takes a lot of interest in her work. She has never told me to hurry up. She has so much excitement in her, she keeps saying, ‘I want to see how I look’. And after the whole look is ready when she sees it, she says, ‘Wow! This is so nice’ and she becomes extremely delighted.

He has worked with Aditi Rao Hydari, Shradha Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jacqueline Fernandes, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and several other actors too. The list goes on but one personality he does not forget is Sridevi.

She was in Dubai to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding. Days after she passed away in an unfortunate incident. Post the news, her Subhash Shinde shared speaking with IANS,  “…She always treated, all of us, whether make-up artists, dress people, everyone like a family. We were one unit.

Today, Shinde is a famous MUA who is known for his work in makeup prosthetics in films like ‘Mary Kom’, ‘Haseena Parkar’, ‘Sarbjit’ and more. He runs his own venture, conducts several workshops etc.
