Did you know that an Indian woman was behind releasing the first ever fitness video in 1989? Well, she does claims so. This woman is a fitness junkie who hardly fails to miss her workout day. She knows how to rightly balance it with her hectic shoot schedules as well. While she is big on the health and wellness quotient, she is ranked as a famous TV personality who has also done significant work in the film industry as well. Today, at 62, she is all up and about with much grace and poise and we don’t have to ask the secret to her fitness because she documents it herself for the world to admire and inspire.

This actress’ father was a well known celebrity himself. Some called him the ‘quintessential Bollywood cop’ as he holds a record for essaying the character of a policeman in about 144 films. His name is Jagdish Raj. He passed away in 2013 and his daughter Anita Raj went on to make place for herself in the industry.

Recently, the actress celebrated her 62nd birthday and shared a heartwarming and inspiring post on her social media where she revisited her first fitness video published and about her dedicated lifestyle.

‘Yeh Rishta Ky Kehlata HAi’ famed Anita Raj, aka Dadisa, penned a note where she mentioned that she was the first Indian to publish a fitness based video in 1989. “I’m proud to say that I was the only one in India to release a fitness video in the year 1989 “KEEP FIT WITH ANITA RAJ,” and I owe a big thank you to my dear friend @pammi_bakshi_gautam for pushing me to do it. Passion for a healthy body can only come from within—it can never be forced. This journey has been mine, but I’ve been blessed with incredible fitness gurus who have guided me along the way,” she wrote.

61 Minute Long Plank, Heavy Lifting And More

Draped in elegant saree and graceful jewellery in her ongoing TV show, Raj does lead a disciplined life like her character. She has dedication, willpower and consistency when it comes to her health.

In the same post Raj shared that she had once upheld a plank for 61-minutes, does heavy lifting and so much more. These strength training exercises, cardio etc supports women’s health especially with bone health, muscle building etc.

Seeing her supremely agile at 62 only goes to say that age is just a number!

Coming to her notable works , she rose to fame with –Prem Geet (1981), Zara Si Zindagi (1983), Naukar Biwi Ka (1983), Zameen Aasman (1984), Ghulami (1985) and Mazloom (1986). Raj is also known for playing Priyamvada Singh in the TV Series Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani and Kulwant Kaur Dhillon in Choti Sarrdaarni. Currently she is seen as Kaveri Poddar in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
