The Rajasthan Royals secured their inaugural victory in the 2025 IPL season on Sunday, defeating the Chennai Super Kings by a margin of six runs.

Following Chennai Super Kings’ IPL 2025 loss to Rajasthan Royals on March 30th in Guwahati, MS Dhoni showed concern for injured Rajasthan Royals head coach, Rahul Dravid. Dhoni approached Dravid, who has been using crutches since a prior leg injury sustained in Bengaluru, to check on his well-being.
MS Dhoni’s display of sportsmanship towards Rahul Dravid, despite Chennai Super Kings’ loss, resonated strongly with fans online. The interaction between these two cricketing legends was widely appreciated, even amidst CSK’s continued setbacks in IPL 2025. Dravid, though injured, has consistently supported his team from the sidelines.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the toss and chose to field, limiting Rajasthan Royals to 182 runs. Nitish Rana’s impressive 81 runs off 36 balls was a key factor in Rajasthan’s total. However, CSK’s batting lineup faltered, with their top-order batsmen underperforming. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 63 runs provided the backbone of CSK’s chase, but his dismissal triggered a batting collapse, ultimately resulting in a loss for CSK.
Despite a late-innings promotion to the batting order, MS Dhoni’s performance failed to secure a victory for CSK. Needing 20 runs from the final over, he hit a four and a six before being caught, resulting in CSK’s second consecutive loss and a seventh-place standing in the league table.
Following their recent match, Chennai Super Kings will concentrate on their next game against Delhi Capitals, aiming for a victory. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals prepare for their upcoming match against Punjab Kings.
