New Delhi: On Thursday, choreographer and social media influencer Dhanashree Verma released her latest track titled “Dekha Ji Dekha Maine.” In the video, she portrays the role of someone who has suffered from domestic abuse and infidelity in a marriage. The song was released on the same day she received her divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, as granted by a family court in Mumbai.
Although Verma has not specifically commented on the themes of the song, its impact seems intense. Produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, the song features vocals by Jyoti Nooran, with music composed by Jaani.
The lyrics of the song, penned by Jaani, have a sharp and impactful tone. Here’s a glimpse:
“Dekha ji dekha maine, apno ka rona dekha. Gairon ke bistar pe, apno ka sona dekha (I saw my own people crying. I saw my own sharing a bed with others).”
Another line in the song goes: “Dil tera bacha hai, nibhana bhool jata hai. Naya khilauna dekh ke, purana bhool jata hai (Your heart is so naive that it forgets to stay loyal. The moment it finds a new toy, it forgets about the old one).”
