The biggest clash in cricket – India vs Pakistan – is set to take place in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in less than two week’s time. The two arch-rivals are going to face off against each other in their second match of Group ‘A’ at the Dubai International Stadium on February 23.

But it seems the sparks are already flying in Dubai ahead of the explosive India vs Pakistan encounter. Two former rivals Harbhajan Singh from India and Shoaib Akhtar from Pakistan came face-to-face against each other ahead of the ILT20 2025 final in the UAE over the weekend. Both Harbhajan and Akhtar have been working as commentators in the third edition of the ILT20 2025.

In a video which went on social media, Shoaib Akhtar is seen charging at Harbhajan Singh with a white ball in hand as the former India off-spinner had a go at the Pakistan player with his bat.

However, there was no real aggression between Shoaib Akhtar and Harbhajan Singh seen in the video as both former cricketers were playfully meeting each other. It was all smiles and hugs after the initial face aggression between the two former rivals.

Akhtar played in 28 ODI matches against India and claimed 41 wickets at an average of 26.78. Overall, he claimed 247 wickets in 163 ODI games at an average of 24.97.

Harbhajan, on the other hand, claimed 14 wickets in 17 ODIs against Pakistan at an average of 57.21. Overall, Bhajji ended up with 269 ODI wickets in 236 matches in his career.

Meanwhile, former India head coach Ravi Shastri believes that hosts Pakistan have the ability to do well in the Champions Trophy. The ICC event is being jointly held in Pakistan and Dubai with all of India’s matches taking place in UAE.

“There is always pressure when you play at home in the sub-continent – whether it is India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, or Pakistan – the expectations are massive,” Shastri was quoted as saying by ICC.

“But I think Pakistan are the kind of side that, with the exposure they have had in the last six to eight months in white-ball cricket, have put up some really strong performances, especially in South Africa.”
