The Indian cricket team’s leading pace bowler is preparing for the much-anticipated Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025), where he is expected to wear the MI jersey again.
Bumrah made his second trip to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in a short span, as he aims to secure approval to take part in the upcoming IPL 2025. The eighteenth season of the IPL is set to commence on March 22, featuring the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), competing against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the inaugural match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
According to reports from Cricbuzz, Jasprit Bumrah felt some discomfort while bowling during his last visit to the National Cricket Academy (NCA). As a result, NCA officials recommended certain exercises and planned a follow-up assessment of the Indian fast bowler’s recovery. At present, there is a more positive outlook regarding Bumrah’s condition, with his progress being carefully monitored at the NCA, and he remains hopeful of obtaining clearance this time.
Bumrah’s involvement in IPL 2025 will largely depend on his capacity to bowl without experiencing any pain. If he manages to do so, he may be approved to participate. Nonetheless, a definitive decision is anticipated to take about a week, indicating that Bumrah will probably miss the first two matches of the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming tournament.
Mumbai Indians will need Jasprit Bumrah in their bowling lineup to ensure a successful start to their IPL 2025 season. They will kick off their campaign with a match against Chennai Super Kings on March 23 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
