IPL 2025 opener between KKR and RCB at Eden Gardens is under threat due to bad weather, as IMD issues an Orange Alert for March 22, predicting thunderstorms and rain in South Bengal.
The IPL 2025 is scheduled to begin on Saturday with a match featuring the reigning champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens. However, there is a significant risk of the match being completely canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions, as the weather department has issued an Orange Alert. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted thunderstorms and rain for South Bengal from Thursday through Sunday. An Orange Alert is in effect for March 22, the opening day of IPL 2025, while a Yellow Alert has been issued for Sunday.
Since the UAE leg of IPL 2021, KKR have dominated their rivalry with RCB, winning six of the last seven encounters. However, at Eden Gardens, both teams have won two of their last four matches.
