Abhishek got angry with Rathi’s action and angrily moved towards the bowler. There was a heated argument between the two, however the umpires and players handled the situation.
The atmosphere got heated again during the handshake, the coach slapped?
During the handshake after the match, once again a heated argument was seen between the two players. Then LSG assistant coach Vijay Dahiya came from behind and slapped Abhishek Sharma, albeit casually.. The incident further heated up the atmosphere, but after some time both the players were seen keeping their hands on each other’s shoulders. During this, BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla also tried to handle the situation.

BCCI takes strict action – Rathi banned, Abhishek fined
Although both the players have resolved the dispute, BCCI took disciplinary action and fined Rathi 50% of his match fee and gave him two demerit points. Since this was Rathi’s third Level 1 offence of the season, he has been banned from the next match (against Gujarat Titans).
At the same time, Abhishek Sharma has been fined 25% of his match fee and given one demerit point.
