Abhishek Sharma has quickly established himself as one of India’s leading T20I players. He had the opportunity to score a century in the first T20I too, but was dismissed for 73 runs, setting the stage for India’s seven-wicket victory. This hundred was the second-fastest ever by an Indian in T20I cricket, following Rohit Sharma’s 35-ball record, and the quickest against England.

Earlier, England won the toss and chose to bowl, a decision that quickly backfired. Samson got India off to a strong start, blasting Jofra Archer for two sixes and a four. While he was dismissed by Mark Wood in the following over, Abhishek Sharma then took over, unleashing an onslaught that left England’s bowlers struggling to contain him.

India has already secured the series with three victories from the first four matches. They triumphed in the opening two games by margins of seven and two wickets, before suffering a 26-run defeat in the third match. However, India made a strong recovery, winning the fourth game by 15 runs.
