New Delhi: India’s cricket team successfully defeated England in the third and final ODI of the white ball series. Having already secured victories in the first two ODIs, the teams faced off in the third match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 12.

In the third ODI, India batted first after losing the toss. The home team delivered a strong performance, setting a target of 356 runs for England. Several players from the Indian side had notable performances during the match.

The match featured several highlights for fans, including Shubman Gill’s century and Virat Kohli’s fifty. A standout performance came from Shreyas Iyer, who, batting in the middle order, scored 78 runs off 64 balls.

By achieving this milestone, the star batsman has set a record as the quickest Indian player to reach 25 scores of 50 or more in One Day Internationals, surpassing notable players like Virat Kohli and Navjot Singh Sidhu. Notably, Iyer accomplished this in 60 ODI innings, while Virat Kohli reached the same number in 68 innings.

India posted a total of 356 runs in their first innings and restricted England to 214 runs, resulting in a 142-run victory. This win marked India’s third consecutive ODI triumph over England, securing the series. These victories are significant for India’s preparations for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025, which will take place in Pakistan and the UAE. India will begin their Champions Trophy journey against Bangladesh, with both teams set to compete at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the tournament’s second match on Thursday, February 20.
