Ishan Kishan’s unbeaten 106 and Travis Head’s 67 played key roles in setting a formidable total for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as they defeated Rajasthan Royals by 44 runs in the second match of IPL 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Travis Head provided a solid foundation with 67 from 31 balls, forming a 94-run opening stand with Abhishek Sharma. Ishan Kishan (106* from 47 balls) then blasted a swift 45-ball century in his first appearance for SRH, helping them reach 286/6, their second-highest total in IPL history.

Rajasthan Royals, however, were never truly in contention, finishing with 242/6 in their allotted 20 overs, although their performance will aid their net run rate. On a sweltering day in Hyderabad, Royals’ young captain Riyan Parag made a debatable call to bowl first on what appeared to be the most batting-friendly surface in IPL history—a decision that could come back to hurt them as the tournament progresses.
