Indian cricket star Virat Kohli faced significant criticism on social media following another disappointing performance. In the second ODI against England held at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Kohli was out for just five runs, caught behind by Phil Salt off the bowling of spinner Adil Rashid.

New Delhi: Virat Kohli’s performance is raising significant worries for the Indian cricket team, as he experienced another setback in the second ODI against England. After missing the first match due to a knee injury, Kohli returned to the lineup but did not manage to contribute meaningfully. He was dismissed caught behind off the bowling of Adil Rashid.
Kohli was ruled not out by the on-field umpire, but the England team opted to challenge the decision. As Kohli headed back to the dugout, the ultra edge technology indicated a spike when the ball went past his bat. Kohli appeared astonished, unable to comprehend the edge, and his reaction quickly gained popularity on social media.
Kohli has faced challenges in Test cricket over the past few years, but One Day Internationals (ODIs) have traditionally been his strength. There were high hopes that the experienced batter would regain his form in this format; however, he was unable to do so. With the Champions Trophy approaching, India would have preferred to see Kohli score some runs, but his lack of performance raises significant concerns for Gautam Gambhir. Additionally, Kohli’s disappointing performance in the second ODI drew considerable criticism from social media users.
In the second ODI, while Kohli was unable to find his rhythm, Rohit Sharma showcased an impressive performance against the England team. Rohit hit several sixes and achieved a remarkable century, marking his 32nd in One Day Internationals. Although he had also faced difficulties in scoring runs previously, his century comes as positive news for Indian supporters ahead of the Champions Trophy. Rohit completed his hundred in just 77 balls, featuring 10 fours and seven sixes.
Rohit’s century placed India on the winning side in the second ODI. Chasing 305, Rohit and Shubman’s partnership laid the foundation as Jadeja and Axar finished the game for the side. India won the game by four wickets in hand.
