New Delhi: Pakistan experienced another disappointing ICC event, failing to advance to the second round of the 2025 Champions Trophy. Co-hosting the tournament with Dubai, the team was eliminated on the fifth day. The Men in Green are facing significant criticism for their inadequate performances in the initial two matches.

Several ex-Pakistan cricketers have criticized their national team. In response to these criticisms, Yograj Singh expressed his disapproval of the former players’ conduct. The former Indian fast bowler also expressed a desire to coach Pakistan, claiming he could develop the team within a year.

“Wasim ji what are you doing there…earning money doing commentary. Go back to your country and organise a camp of these players. I want to see which one of you can make Pakistan win the World Cup. Mein jata hoon, ek saal mein team khadi kar kay dikhaunga tum yaado rakhoge (I will go. I will build this team in one year. You will remember it),” he told Sportsnext.

Yograj is a coach who instructs athletes at his academy. A few years ago, Arjun Tendulkar received training from Yograj. The bowling all-rounder had an impressive debut in the Ranji Trophy, scoring a century in his first innings. He has participated in all formats of the game for Goa.

Yograj represented India in one Test match and six One Day Internationals (ODIs). He is the father of renowned Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, whom he coached and significantly influenced in his career. Yuvraj has participated in 304 ODIs, 40 Test matches, and 58 T20 Internationals. He was part of the teams that won the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the ODI World Cup in 2011.

In addition to Pakistan, Bangladesh has also been eliminated from the 2025 Champions Trophy. India and New Zealand have advanced to the second round from Group B. India is set to compete in the first semi-final on March 4, while New Zealand will participate in the second knockout match on March 5.
