Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha walked off the stage without handshakes after the Asia Cup presser. A later video showed him correcting it.

New Delhi: A joint press conference of the captains of all eight participating countries was held on Tuesday, just before the start of the Asia Cup 2025. Captains of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and other teams were present on the stage. However, most questions during the event were directed towards India captain Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha.
Questions on Indo-Pak match
There was considerable enthusiasm during the press conference over the long-standing rivalry between India and Pakistan. Reporters asked Suryakumar about India’s chances of victory and the team’s aggressiveness. Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha was also questioned in the same context about the strategy his team will adopt on the field.
The action on stage made headlines
When the press conference ended, the scene that unfolded on stage caught everyone’s attention. While Suryakumar Yadav met all the captains warmly, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha was seen walking straight out without any handshake or hug. This behavior sparked a lot of discussion on social media.
A second video surfaced later
Shortly after the press conference, another video emerged showing that Salman Ali Agha had shaken hands with all the captains before leaving the stage. The video also showed him coming face to face with Suryakumar Yadav and shaking hands. This put a stop to the earlier rumors.

Suryakumar and Salman’s views on aggression
When Suryakumar Yadav was asked about the aggression of the players in the India-Pak match, he said,
“Aggressiveness on the field is essential. If you want to win, you have to have an aggressive attitude.”
On the other hand, Pakistan skipper Salman said he doesn’t want to curb the players’ natural tendencies,
“If someone wants to be aggressive, that’s their choice. I don’t hold anyone back.”
Suryakumar also said that the morale of the team is high and the preparation has been quite good.
