Ajay Devgn’s comedy-drama Son of Sardaar 2 and Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri’s Dhadak 2 were released on the same day – August 1, 2025. While Ajay’s film opened to mixed reviews from critics, Siddhant’s film received positive reviews. Discussing Son of Sardaar 2’s box office collection, the movie earned Rs 4 crore on day 9, whereas Dhadak 2 earned Rs 1.40 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.
Son of Sardaar 2 vs Dhadak 2 Box Office Collection Day Detailed Analysis
Siddhant Chaturvedi’s film, which aimed to deliver a social message, opened with Rs 3 crore, whereas Ajay Devgn’s light-hearted film minted Rs 7 crore. Over the first weekend, Ajay Devgn’s film was ahead of Triptii and Siddhant’s movie. While Son of Sardaar 2 earned Rs 33 crore, Dhadak 2 grossed Rs 16 crore.
Coming to the total collection for Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 so far, Ajay’s movie has grossed Rs 38 crore, whereas Triptii and Siddhant’s movie minted only Rs 18 crore.
Ajay Devgn’s film is clearly outperforming Dhadak 2 at the box office, but it continues to face stiff competition from Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s romantic drama Saiyaara.

About Son of Sardaar 2
A sequel to the 2012 action-comedy Son of Sardaar, the film is directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Devgn Films, and Jio Studios. It follows Jassi (Ajay), who heads to Scotland to win back his wife but finds himself caught in a mob feud and the madness of a Sikh wedding. In the midst of cultural chaos, he must rescue hostages and mend his marriage.
