Shwetha has been booked in a case filed by the Ernakulam Central Police in Kochi, Kerala, following a complaint accusing her of appearing in obscene films and advertisements for commercial gain.
Who Filed Complaint Against Shwetha Menon?
According to a report by Mathrubhumi, a public activist, Martin Menachery, filed a complaint at the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court, which then instructed the local police to take necessary action. Acting on the court’s directive, an FIR was registered against Menon.
Why is Shwetha Menon Booked?
Charges against Shwetha include provisions under the Prevention of Obscenity Act, the Information Technology Act, and Sections 3 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The FIR alleges that Shwetha featured in films and advertisements that contained vulgar content and were used for financial benefit.
The movies named in the FIR are Rathinirvedam, Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha, and Kalimannu. The actress has also been mentioned in connection with a condom advertisement.
