Coolie Day 1 BOC: Rajinikanth starrer Coolie finally released in theatres after a long wait. Helmed by popular filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie was one of the most anticipated films of 2025, along with War 2. Starring Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and Nagarjuna, Coolie made its worldwide release on August 14. Despite mixed reactions on social media, Coolie, which had high expectations, failed to grab the audience’s attention. Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is known to make action films like Master, Vikram, LEO, Kaithi, and Maanagaram. This time, Lokesh’s cinematography fell short of meeting his last film, LEO. According to Sacnilk, Coolie has collected Rs 49.57 crore on the first day and an additional Rs 60 crore from overseas. On the other hand, according to Sacnilk, Hrithik Roshan’s film War 2 has done a business of Rs 35.97 crore. These figures will increase by evening. If seen in this way, till now Rajinikanth’s film is ahead of War 2. However, if we talk about Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film LEO, it had an opening day collection of Rs 148 crore.
According to media reports, Coolie’s first day at the box office collection is likely to touch the Rs 130 crore mark. But industry experts claim that it won’t surpass Thalapathy Vijay’s record of Rs 148 crore from LEO.
